OREM — A man died early Tuesday after crashing on I-15 in Orem, troopers said.
About 5:53 a.m., a man driving a Chevy pickup truck cut across the gore area at the 1600 North exit off northbound I-15, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and hit the right wall, ejecting him as he was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.
The vehicle then hit the wall several more times down the off-ramp before coming to a stop.
The name of the driver, who was the only occupant, has not yet been released.
The right lane of traffic remained closed on northbound I-15 for about three hours following the crash and reopened by 9:30 a.m.
