5 taken to hospital following head-on collision in Stansbury Park

STANSBURY PARK — Four people were taken to the hospital by ambulance and another by medical helicopter after a head-on crash in Stansbury Park on Thursday, Utah Highway Patrol said.

A pickup truck pulling a trailer was southbound on state Route 36 when a car northbound attempted to turn left onto Stansbury Parkway before the two collided head on, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

Officials said there were four people in the car, two adults and two children. The male driver was taken to the hospital by helicopter and the the woman and two children were taken by ambulance. The pickup truck had five people, but only one passenger was transported to the hospital by ambulance, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

Northbound state Route 36 was briefly closed following the crash but later reopened, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

Further information, including the identities of those involved and the extent of their injuries, was not released.
