57,000 people affected by Comcast outage caused by vandalism

SALT LAKE CITY — A Comcast outage on Wednesday affecting approximately 57,000 subscribers in the Salt Lake area is estimated to last until midnight, Comcast officials said.

Comcast Director of External Affairs Deneiva Knight confirmed the outage began at 4:48 p.m. and that it was triggered by vandalism. Knight said that five crews are on site working on repairing the damages and restoring service.

No more information was released, including what equipment was vandalized.
