GUNNISON — A man already facing a charge of object rape has now been arrested and accused of new crimes after police say additional victims have been identified.

Dominic Lynn Christensen, 19, of Centerfield, Sanpete County, was booked into the Sanpete County Jail on Wednesday for investigation of five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and sex abuse of a child.

In May, Christensen was charged with object rape, a first-degree felony, in 6th District Court. The victim in that case is an 18-year-old woman, according to a police booking affidavit.

The woman told her younger sister what had happened and the sister then told a school counselor, the affidavit states.

“The counselor began speaking with other students associated with Dominic and found many other juveniles who have been in one way or another victimized by Dominic,” police wrote in the affidavit.

When Christensen was interviewed by police, he admitted to “playing a game with sexual consequences with several juveniles,” the affidavit says.

As police continued to investigate the potential of other victims, they discovered that Christensen had “entered into a relationship” with a 15-year-old girl from Cottonwood Heights, according to his new police booking affidavit. Pictures were also found on his phone of another girl under the age of 12, whom he appeared to take “indecent liberties” with, the affidavit alleges.

Police noted that since Christensen’s arrest in May, “to date there have been no less than five other juvenile victims that have come forward or been discovered with sexual assault allegations. Two of these victims were victimized after his pretrial release from jail in mid May.”

A preliminary hearing in Christensen’s rape case is scheduled to begin July 21.
