Little Pole Fire burns 21 acres; evacuations lifted

HEBER — A controlled burn in unincorporated Wasatch County near 4800 East and 1200 South in Heber is now burning out of control, said Wasatch County fire officials.

The fire, nicknamed the “Little Pole Fire,” initially was said to have burned 50 acres, but it was later determined to be 21 acres. The fire was 45% contained as of 8:00 p.m., said Wasatch County Fire.

Someone called the fire in at about 3:15 p.m. on Monday saying that a controlled burn had gotten out of hand.

At about 5:20 p.m., Wasatch County Fire said in a Facebook post that eight to 10 homes between 4800 East to 5700 East were evacuated as a precaution. Evacuations were lifted just an hour later at about 6:30 p.m. when the fire was 5% contained.

Wasatch County Fire said they will continue monitoring the fire throughout the night.
