Motorcyclist dies after colliding with SUV near Logan

LOGAN — A male motorcyclist in his 20s died after he collided with an SUV that was attempting to turn onto U.S. Highway 89/91 near Logan on Thursday night, Logan police said.

The motorcyclist was southbound on the inside lane of U.S. 89/91 near 3100 South when a Hyundai Palisade attempted to enter from 2000 West, according to a press release. The driver of the Hyundai pulled into the southbound lanes while attempting to make a left turn to go northbound on the highway and was struck on the driver’s side by the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was critically injured and CPR was performed at the scene, Logan police said. The man was transported to Logan Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The identity of the man was not released.
