Police say they confiscated $40,000 worth of drugs in a Springville home on Sept. 19. (Springville Police Department)
SPRINGVILLE — Around $40,000 worth of drugs and $53,000 of alleged drug money were found in a Springville home after a woman’s lost phone led police to investigate, police said.
On Sept. 19, a woman asked Springville police to help her find her lost phone. When police found the phone’s location and knocked on the home’s door, officers said they “immediately smelled the strong odor of marijuana,” according to a Springville Police Department Facebook post.
While officers were at the house, police said a male there tried to run. Police eventually took the male into custody, according to the Facebook post.
When officers obtained a search warrant, they found $40,000 worth of drugs, $53,000 of supposed drug money and a “loaded assault rifle,” the post said.
Police said the male was booked into jail and a woman “released on a citation.”
