Rexburg Civic Club makes 615 stockings for soldiers and Shop-With-A-Cop program

REXBURG – Every year the Rexburg Civic Club participates in the national “Stockings for Soldiers” project where Christmas stockings are made.

As of November, the club has sewn nearly 700 stockings for soldiers, reports club member Faith Jacobsen.

“This year our club sewed 615 stockings, 490 of which were sent to Stockings for Soldiers. The remaining 125 stockings were donated to the local Shop-With-A-Cop program,” she said.

In the 10 years the club has made the stockings, it has provided 1,500 such items for various worthwhile causes.

The Stockings for Soldiers is based out of Delaware and has provided the service for 16 years. The stockings are filled with personal and hygiene items. Last year the Delaware group shipped out 10,000 such stockings.
