CENTERVILLE — A man was arrested after hitting three vehicles and throwing items at police in Centerville on Saturday morning, police said.
The 33-year-old from Provo was driving on Layton Parkway around 1 a.m. when he left his lane and hit a semitruck, Utah Highway Patrol trooper Colton Freckleton said. He then hit two other vehicles, one of which was pushed into the Parrish Lane exit sign.
A trooper approached the man’s vehicle as it crept along the shoulder and the “rowdy” man began yelling and cussing. The trooper returned his car and the man began throwing Xbox games and an open foldable knife at the trooper, Freckleton said. The knife missed the trooper, but hit the trooper’s car.
Police arrested the man on suspicion of driving under the influence and the three hit-and-run incidents. He may face other charges, Freckleton said.
