Senior Expo by Agibly adds dates, locations due to popularity

Attendance at Salt Lake’s Senior Expo by Agibly has increased by approximately 250% since 2016, making it the largest age-related event in Utah. It connects thousands of older adults and caregivers to resources and professionals in the local area. Sponsored by SelectHealth and Intermountain Healthcare, the 2021 Senior Expo schedule now includes two locations in northern Utah, one in southern Utah and another in Nevada.

The first northern Utah event is at the Davis Conference Center in Layton on September 29-30. The following week, October 7-8, it will be held at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy. Admission to each Senior Expo by Agibly is free.

Get health screenings and participate in fun activities

From bone density checks to cardio drumming, explore what older adults are doing to stay healthy and active. Attendees can also get heart health checks, blood sugar tests, vision screenings, flu shots, and back/joint health assessments. Massage stations, bingo games, pickleball lessons and a vintage car show add to the fun. Everyone who attends Senior Expo by Agibly receives a free swag bag from SelectHealth. Hourly prizes will also be given away.

Create a free, personalized care plan with a Care Advisor

Senior Expo attendees get answers to a variety of questions — all in one place. Agibly Care Advisors specialize in creating plans that connect older adults and their caregivers with relevant resources and care professionals in their local area.

“There is no one-size-fits-all approach to helping older adults,” says Matt Casperson, Agibly’s director of growth and operations who has 15 years of experience in the industry. “Our Care Advisors know which questions to ask and the manner in which to ask them. They use a holistic approach and truly get to know the person they are creating a Comprehensive Care Plan for.”

Each plan begins with the goals of the individual in mind and continues up to 30 days after passing. It may include healthcare referrals, Medicare advice, veteran benefits, retirement planning, home modifications, meal assistance and/or funeral preplanning.

Connect with others and attend workshops

Senior Expo by Agibly isn’t just for older adults; it’s for caregivers too. Workshops include a cooking demonstration, dementia caregiving and wellness tips. Get the support you both need from knowledgeable providers in the area and make a few new friends on the pickleball court while you’re there.
