Small plane crashes in Tooele County

RUSH VALLEY — Authorities are investigating a small plane crash in Tooele County, a National Transportation Safety Board official said on Friday after 5 p.m.

The number of people involved in the crash and information on their survival or injuries has not been released. What may have caused the crash is also unknown.

Investigators will be at the scene Saturday to examine the crash, NTSB media officer Keith Holloway said. The investigation will examine weather, radar, air traffic control, mechanical inspection and the pilot’s medical data.

Fire officials in Tooele County are also fighting the Morgan Canyon Fire between Grantsville and Rush Valley, which is currently estimated at 50 acres and started Friday before 7 a.m. The official cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.
