MURRAY — A woman died when she was hit by a car in Murray early Tuesday morning, police said.

A car westbound on 4500 South hit the woman near 500 West about 5:40 a.m., according to Murray Police Sgt. Jason Coons.

It’s unclear if the woman was in a crosswalk when she was hit, Coons said. The driver of the car is cooperating with police.

Westbound traffic in the area is blocked, the KSL Traffic Center reported.

The name of the woman, who was in her 60s, has not yet been released.

This is developing news and will be updated as more information becomes available.
